Cimetiere du Chateau, Nice

Oil on board - 6 x 8 inches

Obeche wood, tray (float) frame

A small oil painting painted on site in the cemetery perched on the castle hill above the city of Nice. In the stillness of the graves the heat of the sun beat down, casting heavy shadows over gravel paths and illuminating the yellow and green of a grand mausoleum.
