This large oil painting was inspired by a longing for the coastal paths of the Cote D'Azur. I drew on photographs and sketches I had made that evoked the sensation of being high above the glistening waters of the cove. The enveloping shade of overhanging branches, the beauty of white sands still beneath the rough surface of the water, and the quiet presence of the Esteral Mountains, hazy on the horizon.
